Moving...kinda‏

Hello everybody, so this week has been a good one. Mostly because it was Christmas week :). So I was able to call my Skype my family, as a lot of you should know because i got to see a lot of you! That was way awesome to say the least, it was really good to see most of your faces for the first time in 16 months and to kind of feel like I was there celebrating with all of you, next year I will be there with all of you with a friend by my side ;) (that would be Lyndi of course) I was also able to talk with my sister, Syd, on Saturday night which was really good. What else happened this past week, I don't remember because i forgot my planner this week....again sorry...so im having a bit of trouble remembering what happened this week. So yesterday was the first day that E. Knight and I moved some of the stuff in the apartment into the new place which was kind of fun and interesting to do. We got the car packed full and took a lot of stuff over. After that we ended up eating over at Sandy's house and taught them a lesson on Hope. Oh ya I just remembered something, so yesterday we were invited to go over to the Coutcher family's house and that was really good. Sister Coucher has been in a lot of pain and has been through a lot of surgery's in the past couple years. She was baptized on August 1st of last year and quickly went inactive, because of her health. She invited us over yesterday and it was really good. We made the U-Build Connect 4 for her kids and then she invited us over to have dinner on the 7th :) so that was really cool. Well those were some of the highlight's of the week :) that I can remember anyway. So i hope all of you have a wonderful week and enjoy the new year :0 I love you all.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello there everybody! So I almost forgot to send all of you an e-mail! So this might be a short one but we will see what I can do with the time that I have left :). Anyway This week has been interesting to a small extent. Not necessarily because of the work, but because of the apartment moving! So it in confirmed that we are going to be getting a new apartment here within the next 2-3 weeks for sure. Before you all possibly freak out about me possibly getting a letter or package in time, there is no need to worry, we aren't leaving our current apartment till AFTER Christmas, and probably not till AFTER new year's, but I'm not positive on the new year's one. O so yesterday on P-Day was pretty fun. All of the elders here ended up getting some Nerf guns and we had a Nerf gun fight :) it was pretty fun to say the least. I think next week the sisters will be joining us and we will have a bigger fight so that will be intense. O so we were able to meet with a new person who we found in the area book. His name is Steven, and we have been trying to get an appointment with her for the past 7 weeks, and we were finally able to get a time set with him that we could teach him a little bit. We ended up teaching the restoration to him because one of his questions was, "what do you believe" so the restoration is a pretty darn good lesson to get a lot of basic beliefs out to the person. It was good also because we were able to leave him with a B.O.M. which is always a good feeling. Friday was good as well. We had the ward Christmas party that night. One of the things we did is when we sang "The 12 Days of Christmas" every table in the gym had their own part in the song. The table that i was at had 3 French Hens so that was pretty cool. They asked us to do a funny action when we said our part, so our table just bobbed out heads and looked funny :) it was a good time.

Well that's about it for now :) i hope you all have a wonderful week and............

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!! <---- It's even color coordinated!!!

wow this is my second Christmas, that doesn't feel weird at all.... Love you all :D!

Another Transfer Gone....Still Same Place :)‏

Hello everybody!  So T-Texts happened this past Saturday, and i will be STAYING in North Brookfield for yet another transfer.  This area now ties with the longest i have stayed in an area.  I wonder what will happen next transfer....hmmm who knows.  So on Sunday Ursula, her mom and one of their friends came to Sacrament meeting!  That was pretty cool since that hasn't happened since R.J. got baptized :) so that was exciting for E. Knight and I, o ya E. Knight is staying as well.  Well lets see what else happened this past week.  So i just realized that i have the wrong planner on me.  Well its the correct planer, i just started a new one so my old one is back home so i will have a much harder time remembering what happened this past week.  So this month E. Knight and i may be getting a new apartment.  So that may seam odd to a couple of people wonder why in the world would we need to leave.  So the main story is this.  Ever since i have lived here there have been people who smoke in all of the other apartments...not a big deal you would think because there are no smoking signs everywhere.  Well that is quite the opposite of what happens.  So every now and again will see somebody just walk out of there apartment smoking.  Also there is this horrible smell that filters up into our apartment, seeing as we live on the 3rd floor all of the smells come to us.  And now there is a safety hazard.  Don’t get all scared though!  We found this apartment yesterday that is really nice, and in a nice neighborhood.  As of now we have the OK from prez that it is ok for us to move, but the apartment needs to be inspected by somebody first, which is going to happen tomorrow night :).  Well i think that is about all i have to tell all of you for this week :) so i hope you all have a wonderful week and keep happy :)

T-TEXT this week!

Well what do you know it's already T-text week! Now that went by kind of fast. So this Saturday I will find out if I am staying in this area or leaving....honestly I really am not too worried as to what happens this time. I want to stay and i also want to go, mainly want to stay because Christmas is next transfer so I would rather be in a place where I know a lot of the members, but at the same time I would like something new. Anyway so this past week I was able to go to the Gardner area for tours. I was with elder Middlestead for half of Wednesday, all of Thursday and then we switched back on Friday after District Meeting. The tour went well I guess, it was nice being able to be in a different are for a little bit :), I always enjoy going on tours when I'm going to a different are haha. Then on Friday after D.M. we went to 99, it's a restaurant, because Sis. Cannon has 99 days left in the mission :) so yes it's a tradition that missionary's do because our 99 always lands on a Friday so why the heck not go out to eat for lunch with the District :). Wednesday the entire Springfield Zone went to the temple. That is Prez. and Sis. Evans Christmas present to us pretty much and it was nice. We were even able to have some temple food afterwards :) which was nice. We have a couple people that we are going to try and talk to this week and I'm hoping that something comes from it. I have talked a little bit about Ursual, and we are going to go by her house tomorrow actually and give her the Polish B.O.M.'s that we ordered for her and her mother. We plan on teaching her the plan of salvation on Wednesday but we will see if we will be able to meet with her :) that's the plan anyway. Other than that things are going slow around here sadly enough, but that's just fine :) we will keep doing what we need to do. Well I hope you all have a wonderful week :)

MISSIONARY CHRISTMAS

 MISSIONARY CHRISTMAS
(author unknown)

I skipped the sales after Thanksgiving. The thrill just wasn't there.
No pictures taken with Santa Claus, my decorating has no flair. His
presents are shoes, shirts, and ties, two suits and socks...no fun. I've
bought him all white clothes because... This year I'm giving Christ my
son. I've spent more time in the temple, my testimony stirred. I've
reread November's Ensign, Felt strength
come from His words. Our family prays more frequently. My tears are
quick to run. Abraham seems closer because, This year I'm giving Christ
my son. I wonder how those Lamanite mothers, gave their sons to war? Or
how the pioneers chose Zion , their sacrifice was so much more. My loss
will be his presence, I'll miss his smile a ton for two years we will
pray for him, I'm giving Christ my son. I stare at his face when he's
not looking. I memorize his eyes, their shine. He's always hungered for
the part of him, that makes his soul divine. The stories and lessons he
always heard, His choice and mine are one. I'll put my faith in God's
hand, This year, I'm giving Him my son. Past gifts have lost their
glitter; I think I finally understand Christ's birth should be
celebrated by giving Him a hand. It's because I know Christ lives and
reigns that all his packing's  done. My gift has taken years to make,
This year... I'm giving Christ my son. I know there's One who
understands, the sacrifice I'm making. Who knows the gift I willingly
give, The toll it will be taking. For He has done it all before Greater
love - there could be none. For years ago God gave to me, His only
begotten son. The hands I washed, the hands I held, The hands I taught
to pray; Now knock on doors to find the ones Who will listen to what
he'll say. Because I know Christ needs him, Until all the gathering's
done, My gift has taken years to make. This year...I'm giving Christ my
son. —

Turkey Day....

Hello everybody! So as you all know this week was Thanksgiving week! Well sad story to tell. So Thursday started out quite well. First thing we did was we went down to Oxford to play some games with the District. We were there from 10am till 2pm. The first thing we did was we decided to make breakfast, so we made German pancakes (I have had them now mom :) a couple time on the mish, not a big fan but I think I would eat them when you make them at home now) and waffles and I think that was all that we had. After 2 everybody had to go to their respective dinners, but ours didn't start till 6 so we just went back home and tried to think of things to do. We found out that we have tennis racquet so we went to go find a tennis ball. We weren't able to find one so we ended up calling Sandy to see if she had one. She did and then she asked us, so have you had dinner yet. We were like o no it starts at 6. Then she said, o I thought it started at 2. E. Knight and I just froze and we both were thinking o no that's no bueno! So we called the young family, keep in mind it's around 5P.M. now, and what do you know Sandy was right....Dinner was supposed to be at 2! AHHHH!!! O well what can ya do you know :) miss communication. So what did we do, we decided to go to the church anyway and play with the tennis ball and have a little fun before we were hungry and we thought what the heck let's just go get a pizza some chips and a drink and call that good :) so that's exactly what we did. So besides the fact we didn't get a traditional turkey dinner it was still a good day. The rest of the week though was pretty good. We had a dinner every single night this week and it was all good food :) nothing none of you wouldn't know about, but I though it was all good :) When it came to teaching other people though it was a slow week. We were able to teach Mary this week again which was good. We haven't meet with them every since the snow storm, but they decided to come to church last week and we got an appointment with them :) so that was good. Well anyway that was my week for the most part :) i hope you all had a wonderful turkey day! talk to you all next week!

Hmmm....Happy Thanksgiving!

So yet another week has gone by. So this week is Thanksgiving! That just blows my mind away thinking that this is going to be my second and final Thanksgiving as a missionary..... that's just weird to me to think about. So we have a couple things planned for that day which I think are going to be great :) so in the morning we are going to get with the rest of the district and do something fun haha. Originally we had planned on playing Volleyball at the Worcestershire church, but those planes have been changed now sadly enough. Later that day though around 6P.M. I will be going to the Young's house for a dinner that they have planned for about 25 people haha! That's a lot of people eh?!?!? So this year will most defiantly be a HUGE difference then last year though both I'm sure are going to be memorable. So News for the week. We lost contact with Paul and Mary when the storm hit, but luckily they came to church this past week and we were able to meet with them yesterday and we read 2 Nephi 31 with them and talked about "The Gospel of Jesus Christ" which is lesson 3 in PMG. Pretty much all we talk about is finding faith in Christ, repenting, being baptized, receiving the gift of the holy ghost, then enduring to the end :). It sounded like they were able to learn something and they are looking forward to meeting with us again :) so that's good news. O yes so on Saturday this week we were able to meet with Ursula. She is from Poland and so is her mother. She speaks English, but her mother only speaks Polish, with a little bit of English here and there. So we were able to teach them a lesson one and it was kind of cool because Ursula had to translate for her mother so E. Knight and I had a had the chance to speak with each other a little bit while she was translating which helped a bit it thought haha. On Friday we went so Sandy's house for dinner and she made us Chicken Alfredo which was AMAZING! Figured id just tell you that bit of information because that is one of my favorite dishes :). That was pretty much my week for you :) so I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy the turkeys!

Baptism!‏

Hello everybody :) this week has been a pretty good one for the most part.  The biggest news that I have to tell all of you is that on Friday we had a BAPTISM!

WOOT!  So R.J. has been getting taught by the missionaries for a little over a year now and has been going to church with is wife (who is a member) for a little over 2 years now.  He decided that it would be really cool to get baptized on 11-11-11 so that is the date he set for him self and guess what :) that is exactly what went down!  You should have seen the look on Jaska's face; she was beyond happy and couldn't hold back the tears of joy.  She has been waiting for this day for a long time and now this time next year she will be able to get sealed to her husband and their new child who is due in February I believe.

Before that we have a Zone meeting in Connecticut, the same day, and it was really cool.  Something quite interesting happened that day in the chapel.  About half way through the meeting I had a realization.....the chapel looks 95% the same as my chapel back home in E-town W.Y.!  I felt pretty good after I realized that and I just had a nice feeling of home and I enjoyed every second of it.  Also on the news front, I might be getting a new apartment while I am in this area so just be warned on that for those who send me stuff, I may be giving you a new address within the next 4 weeks, but we may just stay put as well :) ill keep you all updated.  Well it has been slow here, which is pretty normal, but it has been good.  Today we were able to go to Amherst for another meeting that we had and it went well.  President Evens talked about a lot of little things and we all gave input of how we all could improve on teaching our investigators.  Well that's about it for now :) I hope you all have a wonderful week!

POWER OUTAGE!

So as most of you may or may not know we had quite a different snow storm last Saturday. First of all it wasn't anything I have never been in before, BUT the snow was extremely DENS and filled with a hecka lot of water. This snow was perfect for snow ball fights to say the least. So around 3P.M. Saturday the snow started and by 8P.M. the snow was so heavy that trees were falling to the ground :) so that's why we lost power cuz the trees hit all the power lines and took them down. So I was out of power till Thursday, which for a missionary really isn't that bit of a deal since we pretty much only use power for lights and other minor things
newjerseysnow
. We were out of hot water, but we still had heat! Thank you gas!!! We were even able to cook good food still since the stove is gas as well :). So that was fun I guess haha a good experience for sure though. So on Thursday also i got a new Comp. E. Knight is now here with me in N-Brookfield. Also good news, R.J. Is getting baptized this Friday :) so that's exciting. O ya this last Sunday we got a new branch president and we are going to be getting a new branch mission leader, so a lot of changes have been happening in this branch. What else to tell all of you. huh ya know I though I would have a lot more to tell you since i wasn't able to e-mail last week, but nothing is coming to mind right now. For P-day yesterday we didn't do anything to exciting this week, but we went up to Gardner and played some card games which was nice just being able to sit down and relax for the day :). well i think that's really all I have to say for this week so I hope you all have a wonderful week :) love you all.

Megan and Luke

Hey everybody :D hope all is well and i hope you all did something fun this past weekend and enjoyed some fun time for a change! I always find out that when i go and have a bit of fun every now and again it just makes doing all of life's stuff so much easier to handle and go about! Anyway this past week has been pretty good. We were able to get in contact with a potential family finally!! Their names are Megan and Luke and they have two kids, a boy who is 6 and a little girl who is 15 months old. The only sad part of this whole thing is that there little girl has cancer!!! how sad is that! 15 months old and has cancer. We brought up the plan of salvation with them and they really enjoyed what we had to say. Also the wife, Megan, asked us a lot of other questions that we were able to answer and she really likes the sound of how the church of Jesus Christ functions! So anyway were hoping that they turn into investigators sooner rather than later. Saturday we were able to go to SALEM witch town USA! it was pretty cool. We changed our p-day to Saturday and ended up working on Monday. We were able to see some pretty cool costumes that I never thought would be doable, but people out in Salem have a wild imagination. So we had a fun day out there and when we finally got home at 9P.M. I hopped into bed and crashed I was out! Then E. Clark said that he got into bed at 930 and he was out as well haha :) so we had a good day just walking around and looking at stuff, we were going to go into some museums, but there were too expensive! o well next time I come out here when I got a bigger income I'll be able to check those out! wow my hands are starting to hurt from typing! Anyway let's see what else happened. We were able to talk with Paul and Mary again. We were going to teach them about the gospel of Jesus Christ but after the first principle they started asking us all sorts of questions which ended up taking up the entire hour :) so it was good though i felt like we were able to help them out and we left them with 2 Nephi: 31 and asked them to pray about baptism, so hopefully they get a good impression from God while there praying so we can set up a baptism date next time we meet with them! Well that's it for now :) I hope you all have a wonderful week!! much love!

Hello

Why hello there people around the world that mostly live in Utah and Wyoming and other places that I may not know of, how are you?  Probably just swell!  Things out here are going well for the most part :) a bit slow but that's more then ok.  It's kind of nice when you don't have something going on all the time and you feel super rushed and feel like you don’t have enough time to do all that you had planned on doing!!!  That feeling is no good I must say, so I like it out here where we got enough to do but not so much that were running around like chickens with our heads cut off!  Well let’s see what happened this week that i should tell you about that I can remember.  O so funny story, Sunday night we went over to a member’s house for dinner.  Her name is Sister. Kokernaker.  She is CRAZY, but a lot of fun to be around. So when we got to her house, she hadn't even started dinner so we were like alright sounds good we will help you make dinner then :) so we did.  I cooked some gravy and green beans while she cooked a roast and E. Clark did something, I’m not to sure what he did but he did something.  Anyway dinner was over and we went outside to talk for a minute and then we came back inside and helped her clean the dishes.  The phone started to ring so they told me to answer it, so i did.  It was pretty funny cuz I said hello but in a deeper voice then she said hello?  And I said hello (deep voice) who is calling please.  She then said Holly and i pulled the phone away from my mouth and i asked s. Koker who is holly and she just started laughing and told me to tell her that she would call her in a bit, so i told her that then she asked me "May I ask who is call...I mean answering the phone" and I said in my normal voice " O just an elder" and she was like "O" then i hung up haha it was pretty funny.  Rite after that sister Koker splashed me with water for some reason so i splashed here with a lil bit of water then she tried to get me again so i jumped across the room and stayed clear of her.  Then all of a sudden she had a big cup of water and splashed E. Clark all over his chest!  It was hilarious and E. Clark was like what the heck!  I didn’t even do anything and Sister K said sorry you were behind me and I was just laughing my head off.  Then i knew that she was going to splash me and i was just waiting for it and staying as far away from her as possible.  Then she asked me to through something away and i was like dangit i cant say no and if i go get it I’m going to get splashed!  So i had to go get it and get splashed my self haha :) it was a lot of fun though soon after we were done helping her we left and went home after.  Alright well my hands are starting to cramp up!  So i think ill leave you with that good story :) I hope you all have a wonderful week and HAVE FUN!  That is the most important thing you could do is HAVE FUN!  Alright that is my commitment for all of you this week go out and do something fun WITH the family or if you are away from family get some friends together and do something fun!  I love you all!

STAR VALLEY IS GETTING A TEMPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So you would not believe how happy I was when I herd president Monson

say that Star ValleyWyoming was going to get a Temple. Now I know that it won't really benefit me since S.V. is like 4 hours away or something like that, but the fact that WYOMING is getting a Temple just makes me happy L( and i love the face the Prez Monson gave when he announced Wyoming haha I found it quite hilarious.

Well this week has been pretty good I guess. We were driving back to the Oxford church yesterday after a bit of hiking and there was this beaver that started bolting to the road! It almost got hit by one of the cars in front of us and was like O CRAP I COULD GET KILLED so it pulled the fastest 180 i have ever seen and bolted the other way back into the woods! It was pretty funny to watch actually. E. Clark and I were like "Was that a beaver?!?!" haha yup so i have now seen a bob cat and a beaver out here, i might even see a deer after 13 months O.o how cool would that be ;) haha ok so not the most amazing thing but i would think it ta be pretty cool. So just like E. Foust JR said, if you have not watched all 5 sessions of conference THEN STOP READING THIS AND DO SO!!! http://lds.org/general-conference/sessions/2011/10?lang=eng

Alright so this week what happened! O so like I was saying about yesterday. So we went to this place towards Oxford that had a chasm and it was actually pretty cool. I got a good amount of pic's i think and will hopefully be sending them your way here shortly, 4gb sd card is kind of hard to fill up so I have been shooting as many videos as possible since that takes up a lot of memory :). Before we went hiking though we were in the Oxford church recording :) how cool is that huh. So E. Clark has a couple of songs that he made up and one of them was for last transfers district. So we went to the church so we could record the songs that the other missionaries wanted and i recorded them on my camera as well cuz there actually pretty darn good songs :). Then we went hiking and after that we just went to subway and had some lunch/dinner kind of think cuz it was like 330 when we ate haha so a late lunch I guess. So yesterday was pretty fun to say the least. On Friday we were able to go to Paul and Mary's house. Paul is a Less Active and Mary is our new investigator!!! It was a pretty cool lesson. We talked a little bit about the Word of Wisdom and a lot about the Plan of Salvation. She has two adopted handicapped children one with autism and I'm not sure what the other one has. So they were really curious about the hole baptism thing with handicapped people so we told them and let them know about the entire Plan of Salvation. Afterwards we asked her if baptism would be something she would like to do and she let us know that it probably would be but that she would need to learn more before making that decision :) so that was a pretty cool lesson. So looks like that's about all i got for now :) anyway i hope you all have a wonderful week and have a lot of fun :)

New area, Comp, Transfer!

Hello everybody! So haha alright I got a few funny things to tell all of you if I can remember them all! So first of all I was start with last Thursday. So driving to transfer meeting. As were headed to the meeting, we get on this highway and there is a traffic jam, go fig rite. So 30 minutes or so of this I get fed up with it so I tell my GPS to take a detour. It told me to get off the highway turn around and pretty much get onto the other side so I could start driving the other direction. As I'm going on the Up ramp on the other side, I found out that I was going a tad bit too fast and this turn was a lot sharper then I originally thought it was. So I slowed down and turned the wheels but I was still going a bit faster then I should have been and the car went into a drift!!! IT WAS SOO COOL!!! after I corrected myself and got the car going strait again I thought to myself "why did you do that you still had a good 50+ Ft of drifting left you could have done" but it was probably for the better then I didn't try and keep drifting, o and it was raining so that's why I was able to go into a slide. After that we were at the meeting itself and they were announcing the new companions. They called E. Lystrup and some other guy. The other elder started looking around and was pretty confused as to where his new comp was so he kept looking on the Right side of him then he finally decided to look to the Left and BAM E. Lystrup was one person away from him. His body kind of shook and was a bit surprised and you could tell that he felt a bit awkward and everybody ended up laughing after that happened :) it was pretty funny. Alright let's see that was Thursday, I'm not completely sure if anything too funny happened on Friday or not. Anyway moving on to Saturday.......WE HAD A BAPTISM! So Saturday Sandy got baptized. Now I really don't know anything about Sandy other then she is in her 60's and makes a good truffle. O and on Saturday mornings we do a service for this ranch type of deal where handicap children and amputees come to ride horses for 30-60 minutes. We are there to either lead the horse or stand on the side to keep the people from falling off :) it was really cool and I'm excited that we get to do a service that is so unique. Heck I might even come home knowing how to work with horses a lot better then I did when I came out, which wasn't that great ;) but good enough that I know how to act around horses for the most part :). Sunday was church and it was testimony meeting because of conference this up coming weekend. So there was this black women that started walking up and before she even got to the pulpit she started singing and clapping!!! It was pretty cool to say the least and it sounds like that happens all the time! So it was pretty unique and her testimony was a very good one after she finished her song :) it was a pretty cool experience for sure. So those are the experiences that I have to tell you for this week.

As for the new area, I'm enjoying it a lot considering I have only been here for about 4 days give or take. I am serving in North Brookfield and it is quite in the sticks to say the least, but i like it a lot :). I dislike the city feeling and i love the sticks feeling, so i am a lot happier out here because of the environment that i am in :). It's nice not feeling like you are cramped and have things all around you at all times. There are only about 85 active members in my new branch, but the all act like there one big happy family. E. Clark told me that they all know everything about everybody and love them all just the same and help everybody out as best they can. This Sunday when i was there i found that to be quite true. Everybody was just chit chatting away and moved from person to person, and i have never had soo many people come up to me and say hello, i was taken back for a minute and didn't really know how to act cuz i was so surprised! So these past couple of days have been quite nice for me :). My new comp, E. Clark, is quite an awesome guy. he is easy to get along with and he has an amazing talent of being able to make up songs on the piano with lyrics. Well i think that's about all i have to tell you for this time around :) have a blessed week and SAY YOUR MORNING PRAYERS!!!!! (maybe if i say you all need to it will help me be able to do that as well haha) Love you all ;)!!!!

Transfer

Alright everybody it's been another 6 weeks Crazy huh!!! Anyway this past transfer has been pretty good. I was able to go to a wedding and gain some new friends once again. But all good things must come to an end sooner or later ya know, and as for me its already ended here in Franklin. I will be moving to North Brookfield Tomorrow and my new comp will be Elder Clark. This past week has been good. Few lessons were taught but the few that were taught went well :). I wish i had more information to tell you, but i don't have my planner with me and i don't remember what really happened this past week. I'm trying to think of something funny that happened to tell all of you but nothing is coming to mind at the moment. Anyway all i can tell you is that tonight i am going to be having chicken and dumplings for dinner!!! WOOT I'm excited for that one of my favorite dishes that my mom makes back home. Anyway sorry for being so bland this week :) hopefully This coming Monday i will have lots more to tell you. Have a wonderful week and have fun!

I know something happened....

Hello there everybody :) so what happened this week....well like it says in the title I know something happened but I don't remember!!!! this gets frustrating sometime but luckily I have my planner with me and that just might help me remember some things :). O so on Wednesday it was E. Pestana's 20th B-day. It was pretty good I believe for him anyway haha. The day is self was fairly normal but we were able to go out for lunch with Jack Danial's! Awesome name huh haha he is a really cool guy. He is 85 years old and has a good amount of money to say the least. Whenever he signs up to feed us he always takes us out to a restaurant because he says "you guys always get fed homemade dinners and never taken out so I believe that you would like to be taken out every now and again so whenever you need a dinner let me know and I will take you out for lunch or dinner your choice". He's an awesome guy to say the least. Once cool thing that he does is he drives from Mass all the way to Utah for Pioneer Day. Anyway for dinner we went to the Cimmino's house. They are recent converts of about a year and they are really awesome. She use to be a Jew, as well as her kids, but now they are members. The only down fall is her husband is still a diehard Catholic, but that's alright, it's better than nothing. O so on Tuesday we were trying to find less active members and we came to this restaurant. This person was supposed to live above the restaurant. So we called the number that we had for her and the people from the restaurant answered the call and they told us that she wasn't there. So E. Pestana walked over to the car and got another phone number and when he put the phone up to his ear he felt something hit his head. I was just walking over and just started laughing cuz he moved his hand through his hair and this black stuff was all over his hand and i just knew that a bird took aim and pooped rite on his head! haha it was pretty funny. We ended up going to a hair salon where Michel (a member) works at and got his hair washed. just before we were going to leave the manager of the place (who is also a member) asked if we wanted to go give a blessing to somebody. So we said sure sounds good. We ended up going to this persons place gave her a blessing and taught her a bit about the gospel, and got a return appointment with her :). So the moral of the story is, because God sent a bird to poop on E. Pestans head we got a referral and a now potential investigator haha :) just imagine God up there going Hey Jesus, Joseph, Elias, Come see what I'm about to do :). Yes he most defiantly has a sense of humor. So that was the highlight of the week I must say. O so this past Friday, was my year mark for entering the mission field :) I was going to call my trainer, Elder Jones, and say high but I never got around to it. So those were the highlights of the week for you :). It was a slow week when it comes to teaching people, but that's alright. We were able to teach a couple progressing investigators, but the main one that we are working with is Cida Rebas. I can't really tell you much about her, not because it is confidential but because she only speaks Portuguese. All i know is that we are having trouble getting her to church because she doesn't think that it is important so we aka E. Pestana is working on that. Well i hope you are all having a wonderful life and hare enjoying everything you do. I'll chat with you all soon!!!!!

What to say‏

Hey everybody, so this past week was a bit slow. We weren't able to do a lot of work mainly because a lot of people really didn't want us around after the storm that happened last Sunday, but that's alright :). Saturday we were able to attend a recent converts wedding. It was pretty awesome i must say. It was an all day event kinda thing and we were asked by Norbert (groom) to help him get things put into the cars and what not then go with him to the park and help him get everything set up. So we got to his house around 930 and started helping out where we could. We got to the park around noon and had everything set up by 1ish and things started getting cooked and people were starting to show up. So Norbert has kites, now these kites aren't just the one string 1ft small kites. The kite that I played with was 3cubic ft and it had two strings and you could do simple tricks with it, I enjoyed it, I never knew that flying a kite could be so much more than just watching it be in the air haha.

anyway it was a great day we were able to watch the wedding at 5pm and then we got home around 930 that night so it was an all day event for us but it was a good use of time. We were able to talk with some non members and have a good time :). let's see what else happened, so on Thursday night the other elders in my apartment went on splits and we had elder Guinta for a day. well hmmm it seems like I don't have a lot to say today since I wasn't able to get any e-mails from anybody today, I would assume it's because nobody thought I was going to be able to get on today :) which is understandable seeing as it is a holiday. Today we don't have really anything planned that's special. I hope whatever the family is doing today is a fun activity i know that in the past we would go to raging waters, but last year they went to some new place so I hope whatever it is you all are doing that you are having a great time and by this time next year i would be joining you :) well anyway I don't have much more to say other than that so I hope you all have a wonderful week and enjoy your self's :) love you all and chat with you soon.

Hurricane!

Hello there everybody. So yesterday we got hit by a hurricane.....well more like a tropical storm by the time it got to Franklin. It really wasn't too scary or awesome. But some of the wind that I got to see was pretty cool I must say. We were inside all day yesterday just playing games and napping and just hanging out really :). It was a good day to rest and just have fun inside. We were told to stay inside until told otherwise so thats what we did. Saturday I was able to go to the temple and do an endowment session then do some sealing's. I found it really awesome doing the sealing's for the first time. It was really neat to know that I was helping some people who passed away 200+ years ago be sealed to their parents. I was also able to hear the wedding thing so I kind of know what that is like for when I get to go through the temple when I get married ;) woot woot I'm excited for that. Anyway so that was good to be able to go to the Temple. Other than that let's see what happened. This week has been a bit slower than normal, I'm not too sure why, but it has been. Well I'm drawing a blank rite now so I'm sorry about that it looks like this e-mail might not be as good as they have been lately. well I guess I will call it good for now then. I hope you all have a wonderful week :) love you all very much!

Year one over!!!

Hello everybody! How crazy is it to think that I have been on my mission for over a year now! holy cow that's intense it honestly does not feel like I have been away from home for over a year! It's weird to think that I haven't seen anybody that I love back home physically for over a year and I'm not going to lie that kind of hit me on the 19th and I got a bit home sick, I wanted nothing more than to be home for just an hour even and give everybody a big ol hug! but a las that cannot be, but that's alright :) I will live I mean I am in a wonderful area and I have great roommates so I got the support I need physically and I got all the support I need from my friends an family who are far away! So this week has been good, i am still complete lost as to what is going on because there is so much that is happening in this area rite now it's crazy!!! We had Zone Conference this past week and we focused on the Atonement. It was a good meeting, i would try and give more detail as to what happened but it was just a lecture pretty much from all of the ZL's in different Zones. So at Zone conference there is an award for the cleanest car in the Zones. This happens every Zone Conference so E. Pestana and I decided that we needed to clean the car out a bit. So we used a vacume and got the inside then we went to a car wash and we washed the car and we both decided that it looked good. Well it was good enough that we ended up winning the cleanest car :) how cool is that huh. We got a $20 subway card and a candy bar so that was cool for sure.

Also this past week we had a Mini Missionary. His name is Ben Pittman and he was with us for 3 days. He was set apart and everything, the only thing he didn't have was a badge sadly enough. So it was an awesome experience being with him for 3 days and being in a trio. I had a good time teaching him a bit about mission life and we were able to get him excited to go on a full time mission :) we let him know that it's not all strict and as crazy as a lot of people make it out to be but that's its a lot more chill and enjoyable then you would think but most defiantly not the easiest thing you will do but one of the most rewarding things you will ever do! I'm really not sure what else to say at this point and time. This area is awesome, but i am having minor trouble with my new comp, but hey that's life rite:) accept the challenges that are thrown your way and grow from them and become the better person that God intends you to be! I have a quote for all of you that is very true yet very sad "Home is where we are loved the most, but act the worst" Give that some thought :) and think of ways that you can change that saying in your own homes. I love you all and i hope you all have a blessed week!

New area.. new life‏

Hello everybody :) so i have been in Franklin Mass for the past 4 days now!  It has been an interesting experience for sure to see the difference in areas and ward members.  First of all I haven’t been in a car area for over 4 months and I haven’t driven in almost a year!  Then I get put in Franklin and all of a sudden I am the designated driver and in an area where you need to drive a decent a mount.  It was really weird driving for the first time in over a year and it took me a second to get use to it again.  It's been really cool though :) a bit weird for me still though being in a family ward again with kids and old people haha :) but it's really good for sure.  This ward from what I know is very awesome.  E. Lystrup served here for 10.5 months and he loves this area quite a lot.  So he told me about a few people and some of the things that he loved so much.  So far I’ve been impressed with the way that the wad members feed us!!!  Anyway funny story.  So the first day in my new area we went to go do service for a member in the ward who is moving soon.  E. Pestana (my new comp) got a cut on his heel Wednesday night, just before transfer meeting, and he could barley walk.  Sister White was there and once she found out that E. Pestana could barley walk she told him "once we are done here we are taking you the hospital!" So after we got done with everything we went over to her house and got her son Abe and took him with us so that we wouldn't use up any miles in our car.  Pretty much we were running around for the rest of the day.  We finally got to the hospital around 5ish and E. Pestana ended up getting 8 stitches in his heel!  It was pretty funny watching him quiver every time the doctor came into the area and let him know that he was going to get a shot to numb the pain so he could start stitching up the wound.  Anyway that was a pretty good first day I would have to say :).  Since that though we haven’t really been able to go out and do things, except go to all of the set appointments that we had.  It's been good though we have been fed every night since I’ve been here and our dinner calendar is full for the rest of the month!  Well that’s all I have to tell you for now.  I don’t know much about this place still but it has been good to me so far :) I’m excited to be here in this new place and I think I might be here for a few transfers, which I’m more then ok with :).  I love you all and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Should i stay or should i go now!!

Hello everybody! So it's transfers week and like the title says...well kind of says...am I staying or am I going. Stay tuned for the amazing announcement after these messages.

Today we will be talking about the week of a missionary who is spending his time in the LP2 ward in Mass. Elder Foust how has it been for you this past week in the LP2 Singles ward. "Well this past week has been kind of intense I would say. The beginning of the week was going like normal until Friday. Friday evening we had or normal appointment with our investigator Jian. Little did we know of what was going to happen. The lesson was going well until the end when Jian told us that he wanted to take a break for a month and think about things. A little bit before that though we were having an awesome lesson with him and doing our best to get him to start going to sacrament on Sunday's. We told him that if he were come to sacrament this past Sunday that he would receive the answers that he has been looking for, BUT if he did not and decided to go out with his friends instead that he would not receive an answer. It was a great lesson and the spirit was there strongly, but Jian decided that he wanted to take a break and not listen to us and instead think logically about God. Then we made it to Sunday. We found out Saturday night that we were to combined wards with the LP1 Sister missionaries so that now all 4 of us are covering LP1 and LP2. After we had been at church for 7 hours we had a missionary coordination meeting with LP1's ward mission leader and the ward missionaries. It went well but we were bombarded with things that the ward would like us to do, but none of them knew that we had just came from having pretty much nothing going on to having everything going on so we were a bit set back and got an overdose of members being so willing to help out with missionary work".

"So Elder Foust we heard that this week is transfer week. Could you share with us if you are going to be moved this time around or not?"

"O alright well on Saturday night the Elders in my apartment, and my comp of course, went out for dinner together. We went to Cheese Cake Factory, i ended up getting a burger and it was delicious for sure. Anyway after we were all finished with dinner we headed back to the church and we waited for the texts to come that would let us know if we were going to be leaving or staying in our areas. I had the feeling that I was going to be staying and E. Lystryp had the feeling that he was going to leave. We were both incorrect. I will be going to a place called Franklin, which is in Mass. I'm very excited to leave and start a new area once again".

Well everybody you heard it straight from the source. Until next time have a wonderful week and stay tuned for next week's broadcast, "New missionaries in new areas" !

:) I love you all and I hope you enjoyed this random T.V. interview with myself haha :) ill chat with you all next week!

Not sure what this should say...

Hello there everybody :) yet another week has come and gone. This coming Saturday I will find out if I am leaving this area or if I am staying here and if I will be getting a new comp or not. They changed up the system on us when we joined with the Connecticut mission. We will now be finding out if were leaving and where we are going if we are leaving the Saturday before and then we will leave on Thursday like before. Well about this week let's see if I can remember anything. So on Tuesday we taught about 7 Chinese people. One of our members, shakiera, works with people from other countries and they were doing a tour of church's and she asked E. Lystrup and I if we would teach the students about our church. We of course said yes and got everything ready. It was nothing to terribly special, we just did a quick tour of the church itself and then we taught them all a lesson one which teaches them about the restoration of the church. After that we went to this restaurant called Fire & Ice....IT'S AMAZING!!!! It's a buffet but in a unique way. You go up and choose what you want and put it all into a bowl. Everything is in "Ice" and uncooked you pick what you want-Pasta, Meat, Sea food, Vegies (if you want) and a sauce-once you get all of the food you want (that fits into the bowl you have) you go and pick a sauce that you want then you go the grill hence "Fire" and the cook it in front of you :) it was really good and since it's a buffet you can obviously go back as many times as your stomach and handle, it was quite good so people who come out to Boston with me when I visit will most defiantly have the chance to try Fire & Ice. On Friday I was on tours with E. Godfrey again, it went well I though. We had a lesson with Jian that evening and we were able to teach him a lot about receiving answers. He keeps saying that he doesn't know what the spirit feels like so we asked him a lot of questions concerning how he feels when were around or when he prays or when he is at church. He always tells us the same thing, the he feels calm and peaceful. For some reason though when we tell him that that is the spirit talking to him it just doesn't quite sink in like we would like it to. We are still working with him and we are shooting for his baptism to happen this Saturday but by the looks of it we will probably have to move it back a week or two which is fine just as long as he gets an answer that suits him and gets baptized before he goes back to China. We tried to help him understand that God won't show himself to us today because he wants us to act in faith instead of a knowledge....he is still processing that thought, hopefully it sinks in here soon :). Well let's see what else, so today is E. Lystrup's B-day and he is turning 21 :) we don't have too much planned, but I'm going to try and bake him a b-day cake sometime today, I mean you have to have a b-day cake on you b-day right you can't go without that! Today were planning n playing some dodge ball with the Boston Zone and I think it will be a blast. After that who knows what will happen maybe some b-ball or we might head home and play some games who knows :) all I know is I'm excited for today and it will be a good day for sure! I hope you all have a wonderful start to this new week and love life!!!

I was receiving inspiration

Hello everybody! How are you all doing today! I hope all is well and everything went well on Saturday. I was quite sad to hear the my great grandma Anderson dies last week, but at the same time I was really happy to know that she was no longer in pain and that she is now with our Heavenly Father :) It's so awesome to have that knowledge that we have about life after death and that we all know that we WILL see out families after we die! I find a lot of comfort in that especially since I was hoping that I was going to be able to see her one last time after I got home.

This past week has been interesting for sure. A lot of crazy things have happened which I can't talk too much about. On Thursday though we had interviews with Prez Evans :) that was great. This happens once every 3 months about and is a chance for us to talk with him about anything. It is also a time for us to get to know him a little bit more on a personal level so I enjoy having interviews :) there enjoyable. After that we had a zone activate and we played a couple games. We played Ninja Destruction, signs, and.....I can't remember the 3rd game but they were all fun :) afterwards we had some pizza for lunch it was a great day. Hmmmm what else to talk about, I forgot my planner this week so please forgive me if this e-mail is a bit shorter then they have been lately, but that's how they use to be not too long ago right :) o well. So we were able to have dinner with Jian yesterday. He is a Chinese investigator. We were able to figure out some of his concerns, that I didn't know about, and we were able to tell him what he needed to do so that he could receive answers to his questions more fully. It was a really good lesson that we had with him and I feel like we made some ground work with him finally. We had a baptism date for the 6th of August and we are planning on having that happen no matter what! Unless he doesn't feel like he received an answer then I guess we will have to push it back. I felt like I was receiving inspiration for him which was really cool. I was having all of these thoughts that I just started spitting out and I felt like it was what he needed to hear and I would never have thought of those things before :) it was a cool experience for me. Well I hope you all have a wonderful week and enjoy your self's :) ill chat with you next week!

Great Week!!!

Well it was indeed a good week this week. We were very busy and it made this week go buy super fast which was nice :). On Tuesday E. Lystrup had to go do a baptism interview but it was an hour drive away and as you all know we don’t have a car. So we went on splits with the ZL's and E. Chavez came to my area for 3 hours. It was a good little split and we were able to talk to a good amount of people who came into our paths. It was a good experience for me since I have been slowly getting more and more scared to talk to random people after E. Hunter left. Wednesday we had a leadership meeting. Normally I wouldn't be able to go to this but for some reason all of the DL's comps were told to come to this meeting :) I feel like that is how it’s going to be from now on from the way they did the meeting. Instead of having all of the Zl's to all of the trainings they had some of the DL's and their comps to some of the trainings so that was good. Then on Thursday we had service as normal :) I really enjoy service. While all of the other Elders who are there give people the food I go up to the front desk and help "Mommy" sign people in so that they can go and get food and it helps her out a lot. Friday we had DM (I hope you all remember these shortcut names) anyway DM and it was really good. We talked about Knowledge as a Christ like attribute, then receiving revelation through church attendance, then we had a role play on the new member missionary lessons that we as missionaries have been asked to teach every active member. Anyway Saturday we had a Cano-ba-que with the ward it was really fun :) what went down was there was a BBQ and canoeing! Well sadly enough E. Lystrup and I weren't able to go canoeing but we were able to partake of the delicious food that was there and play some volleyball and football with the ward members and get to know them better and hopefully have them feel more comfortable around E. Lystrup and I. Then of course there is Sunday. It was a great day. During sacrament both talks were on Prayer and how it can helps us and they were both amazing talks and I was able to pay attention for the full hour!!! WOW that's amazing for me :) I tend to get a bit sidetracked after 45 minutes or so haha. It was good though and i enjoyed it a lot. So after church happened we were able to go to a baptism later that evening for David (the person Lystrup interviewed on Tuesday) it was awesome the talks were amazing and the cookies afterword just made it all hit home :D haha well not really but they were def very delicious, sister Evans made them ;) (Mission prez's wife). Anyway this week went really well and I enjoyed it a lot I hope you all have a wonderful week and have a lot of fun since it is summer :) I love you all very much!!!

Sick week‏

Well today I really don't have much to tell all of you about my week. Sadly this past week, as I mentioned in the e-mail from the 5th, E. Lystrup was sick all week. Tuesday we spent pretty much all day in the house so he could rest and start feeling better. Wednesday we were in the house for a better part of the day, but we were able to go a couple places as long as we were riding the bus or T most of the way there. Thursday we had service and E. Lystrup was in good enough health to go to that, we were late though, after getting home we planned for a decent portion which was good for him i thought. Friday we had D.M. then lunch with the Zone like we do every Friday :) it was good. We had a couple appointments to go to with Avinash, and by this time E. Lystrup is feeling better but still under the weather, and had a good time talking with him and answering some questions that he had. Saturday was another slower day with not much to do, but we had stuff to plan at the house so we were there for a good portion of the day again. Yesterday-Sunday-was a good day for the most part. We were 30 minutes late getting to church, that's the first time I've been late to church in 11 months....wow go me :) haha, fyi the bus system on Sundays is a pain, anyway we had a good time at church and a good dinner afterwards at Matt Burdicks house. This week was a good one, even though we didn't get much done work wise we were able to get some rest and plan some stuff out that needed planned, so it was productive none the less :) i hope you all have a wonderful week and know that i love you all :)

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

4th of July fireworks in Boston :) view from the 32nd floor in some skyscraper :) twas legit for sure!

Hello everybody HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! Alright I know it's the 5th but the libraries were closed yesterday so you're getting that today :D. Anyway yesterday was quite a good day. For the first part of the day it was quite normal. We went to the stake center and played some volley ball with other missionaries and had a grand ole time. Afterwards E. Lystrup and I decided to go home because he wasn't feeling to terribly well. I was fine with that though because I wanted to eat some food then take a nap I was quite tired from volley ball! Around 630 we both got up and he was still felling kinda bad but we had this plan to go with the Zone to a building and have the chance to watch the fireworks from the 32nd floor of some building that some member works at who attends the Arlington ward. So we got there then E. Godfrey decided that E. Lystrup had to go home and so we went on splits for the night. I was kinda bummed that those two elders weren't able to watch the fireworks so I did what I could and took pictures. Sadly enough though my dang camera died on me after I got like 10 pictures, o well at least i got some pictures rite :). It was really cool though that we were able to stay up and watch the fireworks and stay up past curfew. As for the rest of the week well let's see. We had a good day on Thursday! That was transfer day. So all of the missionaries went to this meeting because it was the two missions joining. it was cool to see all the new missionaries from the Connecticut mission. Anyway that took pretty much the entire day we didn't get home till around 5 and normally we would get home around 2 or 3 but it was good :). We have a new sister from Connecticut in my District and then a couple new elders from there as well in the Zone. It's been good to get to know them and see the difference in their mission from ours. Anyway it's been a good week can't complain :) i love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!!!

This transfer

Hello there everybody so I am still in Somerville Mass for another 6 weeks :). This transfer is going to be fun and very interesting i think. I'm sure not many of you know this but this transfer the Hartford Connecticut mission got closed and joined with the Boston Mass. Mission. We are gaining around 70+ new missionaries and will have a grand total of 220 missionaries in the Boston Mass. Mission! WOW that is a lot of people to watch over if you ask me. Anyway i was really hopeing that i was going to get sent to Connecticut, but like i said above im staying here in Somerville. I'm not going to lie but when i found out that i was staying (E. Lystrup is staying as well) I was a bit pissed off, and im using those words because that is exactly how i felt. After a few minutes though of being mad at the world i stopped and though for a second, i can either be depressed this transfer and be in pain for the next 6 weeks or i can just thank God for the opportunity to change for the better and enjoy my self for the next 6 weeks. So thats exactly what i did i changed my attitude and am enjoying my self instead of being depressed :). This really is a good area to be in and the ward is amazing and im learning to enjoy it more every week.

On to other things though, so Avinash got Confirmed last Sunday and it was great :). It was really cool to watch him receive the holy ghost and officially become a brand new member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. We had a good rest of the day but not too much to talk about. Monday was a good day, kind of slow because we didnt have our p-day like we normally would haha but thats alright we made the best of it. We had a dinner appointment with Kendell and it was a good one. He made up pizza and we had some ice cream sandwiches for desert, they were delicious! After words we were able to go help a member, who had been in Germany for a month, move into his new apartment and help him set up his bed, which by the way is quite intense. By then it was time to head home, we ended up going to Harvard T station to get on a bus so we could get home on time. A funny experience happened there and it might shock a lot of you but keep in mind that this is Harvard T station, this is where ALL and i literally mean ALLLLL the crazys hand out. Anyway we were waiting for the bus and there was this guy who was sleeping on the bench and you could tell that he was just waisted, not to mention the wisky bottle that was on the floor rite below his hand. Then he randomly wakes up.....kinda.....and starts saying all sorts of weird stuff and dropping the f-bomb every other word. At this point im kind of laughing because im so amazed at how wasted this guy really is. Then out of nowhere i hear some water hitting the ground so im looking around and what do you know this guy was peeing on the floor while he was laying there on the bench! I was fortunate enough no to see anything disturbing, but i was just so amazed at what was happening to this guy from drinking some liquor. It just made me think of how amazing God really is in giving us the Word of Wisdom so that stuff like that wont happen to us because we arent consuming anything to make us lose control of our thoughts.

So all in all it was really a good week :) some interesting things happened and i even had a cool experience with prayer. So the other night i decided i would test this out and ask god to help me remember a dream that i had that night when i woke up. now the reason why i asked him this is because i hate knowing that i have dreams, but not ever being able to remember them ESPECIALLY when i know i had a good dream and i cant remember it for the life of me. So i figured id give it a shot and what do ya know i could remember what i had drempt for the most part. It was a great experience even though it was a very small one, but it did strengthen my testimony of prayer just that much more. I hope you all have an amazing day and week and i will talk with you all again on Monday :) i love you all and shall talk to you soon!!!!
