Getting there

Hello everybody, so really I’m not sure what to keep talking about.  This past week we had normal things happen.  Nothing really different when it comes to the work.  We have been having some pretty crazy weather though.  Yesterday we had an intense lighting storm.  Around 5PM after church we were in the church and there was this huge crack of thunder and we knew the some lightning had hit close by.  Sure enough just a few seconds later a member came by and was like; there is a huge fire just over there.  Well over there was just in the other yard where a new CVS is being built.  It was pretty cool actually :)  Other then that though really, nothing too terribly different for the week.  Oh ya Tim and Carol moved to a new apartment and we helped with that on Saturday.  It took form 9 till 2 so that was good i guess.  Then we helped Artibani and Moore as well this week.  I think that’s really all I have for this week.  Have a good one!

3 down, 3 to go‏

Alright, well were already half way done with this transfer already!  How crazy is that?!?!?!  Seams like time is going by super fast yet super slow at the same time, not sure how else to explain it other than that way :) so hopefully you understand what im saying without saying much.  As for this week, sadly things went back to being slow.  We weren't able to teach douge on Saturday like we were hoping to and we didn't see him at church yesterday, so maybe something happened and he wasn't able to make it.  As for Rissa, she is gone at some camp for the next weeks or two, so we weren't able to teach her either.  We were able to do all of our service opportunities this week though like usual.  Saturday with Bro. Artibani we helped him cut some logs down, then make then into burnable pieces and stacked them.  After which we weren't sure what to do so we were given two options, stay outside and cut some more wood or go inside and move furniture around and de bug the couches.  Well we decided to go inside, and it was a good thing we did.  No more than 10 minutes later it started down poring outside.  Luck for us :) we didn't get drenched instead we were nice and dry and got thing done inside before we went to dinner with Bro. Patterson.  Tuesday with Bro. Moore........O ya we went and got his wood splitter and on the way back to his house the trailer fell off the truck!  It was pretty cool actually haha, nothing bad happened in the least but a cool story to tell people :).  Pretty much we hit a big bump and the trailer came off the hitch and the log splitter flew all over the place, but no damage was really done as far as we could tell.  That's pretty much all of the excitement that has happened this week.  O ya on Friday we had a meeting with the President, AP's and the ZL's.  We talked about how we can better work with members in our areas and how we can be more affective with them and helping them with their missionary work.  That was actually pretty cool to go to and I didn't get tired or board while listening.  President Packard is going to be an amazing President for the upcoming missionaries.  Not gonna lie, kind of bummed that I won't be here for the rein of President Packard :) but I'm glad to be coming home so all is well :).  Alright then that's all i got for this week so i hope you all have a good one!

What to name the title...idk this will do :)

Well yet another week come and gone, fun fact the elders quorums president is currently at this moment in time in Evanston WY haha, just got a text from him so I figured I’d let you all know this :).  Well what to ell all of you about this week.  Well we are finally teaching somebody new!  Funny thing is it's Tim and Carol Slacks daughter Marissa!  It's really cool because she has been totally hostile towards the church for the past 7 months and now all of a sudden, after living with her grandparents for most of the summer, she wants to get baptized.  This probably won’t happen before I get home, but I’m excited that she is being a lot nicer to us and is willing to listen :).  Along with that a person by the name of Doug has mentioned that he would like to be taught as well!  So this week has been going I would say.  Doug has been coming to church for a while, but he lives way the heck in the middle of nowhere, where we can’t really get to with our mile allotment.  Good thing is that he said he would drive to Tim's house this Saturday and we could have dinner with them then teach a lesson :).  So after not having anybody to teach for a while we now have 2 possibilities and that is a HUGE improvement for E. Anderson and I :) so that’s exciting hopefully they are able to keep teaching these two people after I leave this area.  Well I could probably end my E-mail rite here with that information, but I’m going to tell you about the service we always do because, well I have been doing that for the past 7 months so why stop now!!!  So Bro moore we went and got a BUNCH of wood that i believe we are going to cut and stack tomorrow.  As for Bro Artibani we finished moving a stack of wood to another location.  Then they took us out to dinner at some Mexican restaurant and it was pretty good I guess :) not the biggest fan of Mexican food, but tis a nice change to have every now and again.  Well i think that will be good for this week!  Well i hope you all have a good one!

I can’t get off my mind of how long I got left.

Sorry about not hitting send yesterday.  I had a feeling that i had forgotten and here i am confirming that thought so again sorry and I hope you like the e-mail

Hey everybody!!!  So it seems like I can’t get off my mind of how long I got left.  Left and right I am hearing it somewhere from somebody, kind of funny actually that so many people know how much longer I have left. Well I have 5 weeks left about and time is going by pretty fast.  It's pretty hard to believe that I only have that much time left.  The other week we had a get to know the president.  As we were going around introducing ourselves I was asked how long I have left and I told them "o I go home next month, Waite no.....ya next month."  It was pretty funny actually when I though about it, I actually had to think to make sure that I was correct :)

Anyway enough about that, this past week has been normal for this area.  It was pretty slow though, honestly I don’t understand why, but I think it had a lot to do with the fact that transfers were this past week even though I’m staying in my area.  It was really quite weird actually and kind of annoying, but thing, like I said above, have picked back up and time is going as fast as ever.  We were able to help Tim on a bathroom that Bro. Scherrer is redoing in his home.   The first time we did this was a while ago and we were able to be the demo team which was a lot of fun :).  Before when we were helping Tim out on a different home he found out that I was really good at cutting, making the lines strait and making a really good fit, so he asked if i would cut the tile for him and I said sure.  We were there for about 2 hours I think and the tile looks really good :).  With Bro Moore i was able to change some blades on his lawn mower that somebody put on upside down.  It was cool seeing as i have never done that before and i found it pretty interesting.  It's funny to see how people change over a period of time and now i can understand why my dad wanted to teach me these kind of things, mainly because I’ll probably have to use it one of these days....I probably should have paid more attention and been more willing to go with him ;) haha o well i still got some time to learn :).  As for Bro. Artibani we helped him set a new place to put his wood and started stacking it there.  All in all it was a really good week when it comes to service opportunities.  As for other things, the work here is still very slow, that’s alright though.  Just keeping a good attitude is all you can do and make the most of things :) well I hope you all have a wonderful week!

6 weeks to go‏

Well I thought this time would never come yet I knew it would.  It's been a quick two years and in just a short 6 weeks I will be seeing all of you once again!  This week has been a weird one, but a good one.  It's been one of those weeks when odd things happened, but not necessarily bad things :).  So on Thursday I went on Tours with E. Bloomfield (the greenie) and he came here with me in Bristol.  It was a good tour even though all we did was help somebody move.  Well we were supposed to help that person move in at 330 but we soon found out that things had been going wrong all day for them and his wife was still about 2 hours away.  So we decided that we should go visit some members while we were waiting and went and did that.  When we got back she was still about 30 minutes out so we helped the member get a couch out of their house that the past tenet left behind.  Once we got that over with the truck finally arrived!  So we started to get that unpacked.  Well it was around 9 when we decided to call it because we were having complications.  We decided that we would resume at 630 the next morning and get everything out of the truck so the members could take the truck back before 10 so they wouldn't get an additional charge on the rent.  Well that’s exactly what we did and around 9AM we finally had everything unloaded and ya :) it was a long few hours but everything got done.  They had a 26ft long truck PACKED and there were only 3 of us helping out so ya it took a while, but it was good.  We have been trying to get a lesson with a person named Jakie.  Her daughter is a RC of a couple years I think and she is currently at BYU.  We recently got this information from the Avon elders.  We will hopefully have a lesson with her either this week or next week.  Well I think that’s all I got for now :) O ya I’m staying in Bristol till I come home so ya :) love you all!

Another transfer already?‏

Hello everybody, so this week has been pretty good.  First of all we got a new mission president as of today!  That is kind of exciting and different as well :).  We will be able to seem them tomorrow actually and get to know the new presidents family a little bit.  Friday was a good day for my district.  We were asked to go up and help with the Youth conference up in Goshen and it was a blast.  At about 10AM we were asked to make an appearance to the youth and they asked a couple of us to bear testimony of serving a mission.  So we had E. Ficklin and E. Bloomfield to give theirs.  The reason why we chose them is because Fricklin goes home in 2 weeks and Bloomfield has only been out for 4 weeks so it was pretty cool to get both ends of the spectrum out to the youth.  Afterword’s we had lunch and then went out to "The Market Place".  It was pretty fun.  This was set up to be in the time of Jerusalem type of thing.  Some of the missionaries were roman soldiers and tax collector.  Pretty much they got to pick on the youth and make them pay their taxes :) it was pretty fun.  As for Saturday we went and helped a member who is, moving from the Hartford ward to our ward, move in.  All we did was unload the Uhal truck, but it was a good time.  After words we went over to Bro Scherrer's house and helped out with his bathroom that he is redoing.  It's a pretty good thing that I did a couple of those with my dad or I would have no idea what the heck was going on.  As it is though I understand what it going on for the most part though I still have much to learn in that respect.  I've forgotten a lot as well, but I believe that it will come back pretty quick as I start working with my dad once again.  Lastly we went and helped Bro Artibani as usual.  We pulled out some stumps that were in some other person’s yard and had a good time.  He ended up taking us to an ice cream place and I got Cake Batter like I normally do :).  So this week was pretty good I should say I hope you all had a great one as well!!!

Yet another week‏

Hello there everybody!  Sorry if there was another e-mail that just said this same thing but I believe that I sent that by accident.  Anyway this week has again once been filled with service and a little bit of minor teaching :).  We did the same old service projects this week with the same people.  We were able to finish the rock walk way for Sis dea on Saturday and it turned out pretty decent considering all we had for tools were our hands and shovels, so ya we did the best we could with that :) ill be sure to get some pictures so you all can see what it looks like.  As for Bor Artibani we were able to help him finish up some wood that needed to be spited, and this coming Saturday we will be able to help him move some things around outside (pertaining to wood) and stuff like that :) at some point we will start helping him with his deck that he wants to extend a little bit so that should be fun, hopefully I’m still around when that happens :).  Sunday evening rite after church we were able to talk to this lady named jakie if I remember rite.  Her daughter is a convert of I’m not sure how long and she wanted to talk with us.  So we got a hold of her yesterday and answered a lot of her questions, hopefully we will be able to start teaching her here soon :) that would be great.  Other than that though it has been pretty slow.  We were able to get a couple referrals this past week and we will be stopping by them this week in hopes that one of them will want to be taught by us and keep us a bit busier then we have been :) anyway I hope you all have a great week!

3 weeks in‏

Well what do you know, we are already 3 weeks into the new transfer and E. Foust JR is getting moved :).  It's kinda funny to think that every 3 weeks something happens, or I guess could happen with the Foust boys who are out on a mission.  That must be pretty intense for some of you back home :D. Well enough about that now to tell you about the week that I had.  Well to say the least all we did this week was service.  We had barely any teaching appointments but it was good doing service.  Really we did all the normal service plus some I guess you could say.  It just feels like all we did this week was help other people out with things they need to get done and it was really nice :).  We were able to help brother artibani for a while on Saturday and get a lot of little things that he needed to get done that he has needed to get done for a very long time I guess and he was great full for that.  Wednesday we were able to help Sis Dea out again with the walk way and it is almost done :) we should be finishing that up this week either tomorrow or on Thursday so that is exciting.  With bro Moore on Tuesday we cleaned up some of the garden bed that his wife has been wanting to eat cleaned up for about 3 y ears or so ;) that’s what she told us anyway haha so we got that done for her and some odd end stuff as well for brother Moore.  As for the rest of the week, well we did small things here and there.  We went out street contacting here and there and stuff like that, but really no success.  I really enjoy helping out the other people and hopefully leave a good impression and hope that other people will be watching and start asking questions.  Well that’s about it for this week :) hope you all have a good one!

Baptism!‏

So this last Saturday we had the baptism for Kaila!!! It went pretty well I guess :) quite smooth for the most part.  Really the only thing that went wrong is the fact that Kaila needed to be baptized 2 times instead of once :) haha.  It was pretty funny, once I dunked her for the first time I looked over at her feet and there was a ripple so I was like alright we need to do it again!  So we did and got it done :).  Both talks were great and the confirmation yesterday was awesome.  This past week has been pretty good I would say.  We were able to help bro Artibani with some wood again and that went well and was kind of nice.  Tuesday we went to Bro Moore for the fist time this transfer and we went and cut some wood up with a chainsaw.  So this is the first area that anybody has ever asked me to use one of those.  Thanks to my dad using them all the time while I was growing up, I  was able to recall what my dad did and I did exactly as I remember watching him do and ya know what, everything went quite smooth :) funny how watching our parents do stuff helps us throughout our lives.  Other then that though nothing really different.  On Thursday I was with E. Berlin from the Glastinbury ward, and well all I’m going to say is that it was a rough 24 hours for me to say the least.  Well lets see what else to talk about.  I really think that's going to be it for this week :) I hope you all have a good one!

Well im a District Leader now....

Hello everybody, so as you can see in the title I am not a DL.  This call came Wednesday night at around 10 P.M. and President Evans asked if I would be the DL well i accepted and here I am now doing that job.  Nothing really too different, I just now plan DM and go out exchanges and do the call in reports so ya its all good I guess.  So this week was pretty normal.  With the new comp though things are at a slow start only because I need to get use to the way my new comp does things :) it's always like that when I get a new comp so things will be 100% normal by the end of the week.  Anyway I wish I had a lot to tell this week but I really don’t.  Though I do have to tell that Kaila is going to be baptized this coming Saturday and that is a joy :) she asked if I would baptize her and I will be doing that on Saturday at 10 AM :) well i hope you all have a great week talk to you later.

Transfer texts already?‏

Hello everybody.  So it is kind of hard to think that this transfer is pretty much already over!!!  This coming Saturday we will be finding out if i will be staying or leaving.  The odds of me staying though are pretty much 99.9999999999999999%  so there shouldn't really be any surprise, that is unless I get transferred :) so I’m really just curious to see who my new comp will be.  So it has been another week full of service.  On Thursday I went to Avon for the day.  The first thing that we did is we got into our service clothing and went to this persons house and mowed her lawn :) you know what’s funny, I actually enjoyed it since I haven't done it in suck a long time :) so that was nice.  Then the next day we went to an investigators house and pained her gazebo :) so that was a lot of fun I thought.  Then on Tuesday we had a meeting in bloomfield again.  I don’t remember what it was on though, I think it was a leadership meeting.  Wednesday we went to brother moors house and helped him with his yard again.  Saturday we were with brother Artibony for a really long time, but we were able to get a lot done during that time.  We got two loads of brush to the dump and a load of wood to his house :) so it was a good day.  After words he took us out to lunch which was nice of him.  Let’s see I believe that is all o really have.  We were able to teach Kelia on Friday the 3rd lesson, the gospel of Jesus Christ.  That went pretty well.  We do a object lesson with an egg that is pretty fun to do :) well I guess that’s about it for this week :) hope you all have a great day!

Mothers Day‏

Well I must say yesterday was quite a good day to say the least!!!  So I got to Skype with my parents yesterday and talk to my sister :) what a good day.  I don’t think anything could have made me upset or anything epically after you are able to talk with you family.  It is amazing how we take such a simple thing for granted, but when you can’t do it for so long you cherish the smallest of things.

So this week has been pretty good I would say.  Really we did pretty normal stuff with service and what not :)  So we taught Keila the plan of salvation on Friday and that went pretty well.  We had the puzzle that the Mathews family gave to me and I think that helped out a bit :) it is always good to have a visual for any age.  AHHH my time is almost up and I’m stuck on what to say haha.  Anyway things are going alright out here :) can’t complain at all really.  Well honestly I’m not sure what to say other then today we are having a zone battle with spring field and that should be a lot of fun :) I hope you all have a great week LOVE YOU!!!

21 already?!‏

Hello everybody!  So my B-Day was this past week and its kind of hard to think that I’m 21 already.  So on Monday I went to Glastonbury with the Zone Leaders on tours.  I went with elder Yim again, but for a good reason.  So I’m not sure if any of you remember, but Yim and I share the same B-Day :) so to celebrate we went to 99 (a restaurant) and had a nice dinner.  Other then that though we just did normal missionary work, we also exchanged ties for a B-Day present :).  The rest of this week though has been much slower then normal teaching wise that is.  We were able to help Bro Artibony this week again like we usually do.  We cut a bunch of wood which was nice to do.  We have been helping him clean out a friend of his back yard for a while, so it was nice to have a change this week :).  Saturday we had the Adult session of the stake conference and it was pretty nice.  Area 70 Elder Olsen was here and we got to listen to him speak for a while.  He opened it up fro Q&A for the most part of the meeting, but then spoke a little bit about praying and praying really hard.  Sunday was the general session and I’m not going to lie I didn't really get a lot out of it.  Manley because I was hearing everything I heard on Saturday again so I started to wander.  Friday we were able to teach our new investigator Keila.  She is 9 and her mom has been inactive for 10 years, but recently decided that she needed to start going to church again.  So her Kelia told her mom that she wanted to be baptized and ya :)

now were teaching her.  We taught the first lesson, the restoration, and we used jenga as a object lesson.  So it was a pretty good week I would say :).  That’s about all I got for you this week.  HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

I know it's a week early but w/e rite :) I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Why hello

So yet another week of the norm!  We did a bunch of service with Bro Artibony and Bro Moore.  Let’s see what else happened this week.  So last Tuesday I believe we went over to the Parkinsin family with bro Scherrer.  We went over there because this family just randomly started to come back to church after 10 years of inactivity I believe.  Pretty much we just got to know them and get to know their story.  We found out the, Sarah the mom, has been a member her entire life, but like a lot of us has been inactive off and on throughout her life.  She decided that it was time for her and her 2 girls to start going to church.  So her oldest is 9 and not baptized so guess what.....that's rite we are going to start teaching her the lessons this Friday :) so that should be cool.  Also we have been going over to Tim and Carols house every morning to start off their day with a spiritual thought so that they will hopefully make the correct decisions throughout the day.  They have one of their friends living with them currently and her name is Mellissa.  She came to church yesterday and I’m not sure if she liked it or not but hopefully she did :).  Were going to try and start teaching her and see if she is interested at all or not :).  So things are picking up a little bit which is nice.  So that’s what’s going on in my neck of the woods for the time being :) I hope you all are enjoying work, school, and life in general :) have a great week!

Week one!‏

Hello everybody!  So this week has been a little different, yet the same at the same time!  So I have a new companion and his name is E. Anderson, pretty easy to remember considering were related to Anderson.  As far as i know though were not related to this particular Anderson.  So this week has been pretty good.  Yesterday I was able to give a blessing to Tim and it was really good.  I think this is the first blessing that i was comfortable with giving, as in not scared and not sure what to say and what not.  Other then that though things have been pretty normal.  It's been kind of hard to get things into order and kind of  know what to do because E. P was here for so long he just kind of planned out our days with out asking me too much.  So now I’m trying to figure out what to do, but things are getting easier every day.  Pretty much all that we have been doing is introducing E. Anderson to the members and recent converts and trying to introduce him to the people were trying to teach.  We haven’t really taught any lessons so far but we have been teaching members spiritual thoughts.  Really that’s all that has been going on.  So I think that is all that i have to tell you today :) I love you all and i hope you have a great week!

Staying in Bristol‏

Hello everybody!  So this week has been good.  This past week we found out that E. P is going to be leaving to Nashua N.H.  That means that since he has been in this are for 10 months that he has/had a lot of people to say goodbye to.  So that pretty much means that all we have been doing the last couple of days is saying goodbye to a lot of members.  One nice thing about it though is that I get a picture with all the cool families before I leave so I don't really have to worry about it as much :D.  So if any of you remember, when i was in Amherst before I left, one of the members too us out to a Chinese/Japanese restaurant.  I took a couple of videos that had some tricks and what not with the person cooking rite in front of us.  Well the Paterson family took us to a place like that last night and it was pretty darn good i thought.  Like i told my mom in her e-mail, I even ate about half of my veggies (minus the onion) which were carrots, cucumber, broccoli, and onion but like i said i didn't even tough those.  I ate everything except all the broccoli.  I had about 5 pieces of that before i had to stop haha.  Now if most of you don't know (which i think most of you do) i really hate veggies, so that is a pretty big feat for me to pull off.  The member even said that he was proud of me haha :D  Sunday was pretty good as well.  The Torington elders had a baptism, so we decided that we would go to that to support them.  It was an alright service a little unorganized, but still worked out well.  It was nice to see the baptism though :) always is.  Monday this week was Patriots day.  We received an e-mail from President last week that told us that we should have a zone activity that day and basically take a half P-day so that was pretty nice.  We ended up laying Soccer, Kick Ball, Ultimate Frisbee (but with a Football), Basketball, Speedball, and i think that's about it.  It got to like 95 that day and we were all exhausted from the heat after 2 hours of being outside.  So we ended up going to the church so we could have some AC to help cool us down and nice cold water.  So this week there was the normal amount of service and a lot of member visits.  Nothing too amazing to inform you about when it comes to teaching and wut not because of that reason.  It's been a great week though :) Well i hope you all have an amazing week!  love you all!

Transfer Week

Well what do you know it's been another 6 weeks! Huh that went by fast. usually does now a day's though :) so shouldn't really be a surprise to anybody. Well this week I was in Torington for a day with E. Wilson. It was like most tours I have been on but it was still good to get out of Bristol for a day have have something different. After I got back on Wednesday it was rite back to doing service. I believe it was Friday when we helped sister Dea with her garden. We pulled up a lot of dead brush and took out a lot of rocks. Beneath the rocks there was some gravel that we needed to get rid of. so before i got started i was thinking there was probably going to be maybe an inch deep of gravel and it was maybe 10ft long or so 3 rows that we were going to do that day and the other 3 another day. Well little did we know that it was actually morel like 10inches deep! The hole time i was thinking why in the world did this person need to make a hole this big to put a rock on top of it???? i still don't have an answer but maybe my dad will. I mean if he didn't want it to settle I was thinking an inch would be more than enough but maybe i don't know much about this. Anyway that took a good portion of that day up and it was a lot of fun still. Saturday was pretty good. We went to brother artiboni's and he took us to one of his friends house that got hit pretty bad with the hurricane then the October storm. There is all sorts of brush and tree limbs everywhere that brother artiboni is getting rid of slowly. So we helped him get rid of some of that stuff on Saturday. After we were done he was nice enough to take us to a Mexican restaurant for lunch. I had a steak chimichanga and it was pretty good actually.

As for lessons, we actually had a member come with us to a lesson on Thursday after District Meeting. We went and visited with Patti and tried to teach her a first lesson. She ended up asking us if the ward could help her with some food because she was struggling. We told her that we would let the bishop know and he would get everything figured out. When we finally got to talk with the bishop, we told him the person's situation and the first thing he said was, " are you talking about Patti". Rite then E. P. and i both were thinking o crap this is not good if he already knows who were talking about. We soon found out that she has been around for a while and that she just likes to use the church to get what she wants. So that put a small damper on our spirits because we had a date for her and everything, but we dropped that pretty fast. O well i guess :) no big deal we still got other people we can attempt to teach.

Well that's pretty much been my week in a quick overview. Sunday went pretty well, we had some really good speakers and a wonderful dinner with the Patterson's, Neely's, and Scherer's. We had ham, funeral potatoes, corn, roll's, jello, and orange roll's. Then for desert we had some strawberry short cake :). So Sunday went well and it was a pretty good day for sure. Well that's it for this week. Ill be letting you know next Monday if I'm leaving, getting a new comp, or if everything is going to stay the same. Till then :) love you all and have a great week.

4th & last conference‏

Why hello there everybody.  So Saturday and Sunday as most of you know was conference weekend.  This weekend for missionaries usually goes by pretty fast because our days are planned out for use.  Basically we wake up, study go to the church, watch the first session, eat lunch, watch the second session, eat dinner, then either visit a family or go to priesthood meeting if it's Saturday, and call it a day pretty much.  I don’t remember what the talks were about, but I remember that I really enjoyed the ones that Bednar and Holland gave in the priesthood meeting and then all the ones that had to deal with the family.  I've been thinking about family a lot lately and I’m really not sure why that is could be cuz im going to be home soon or it could be because I’m thinking of my future family.  Whatever the reason those were the talks that stood out to me.  So this last Wednesday we had out Zone meeting.  This is where the entire Zone gets together and we have a Zone wide meeting that runs like District meeting, but with the zone.  We talked a lot about finding and how to be better teachers when it comes to teaching out members.  During the meeting we were getting interviewed by Prez. Evans.  That day E. P. and I were going on tours with the Zone Leaders.  E. Yim came to Bristol with me and E. P. went to East Hartford.  E. Yim and I were roommates when I was in Cambridge so it was cool serving with him for a day.  Thursday I was with E. Yim till around 4 p.m. We did some Service in the morning with Tim, and then went street contacting for a little bit before we had to drive up to East Hartford to switch back.  For service this week it's been pretty normal.  We helped brother Moore again, getting wood from his back yard so we can start cutting it this week.  We also helped a non member family cut and stack some of their wood also.  Their names are Bob and Karen.  They were taking the lessons before, but they didn’t like the face that missionary's get moved around so they stopped investigating.  We go there from time to time and help them out, usually in the summer though.  They have 4 German shepherds, one of them being a puppy that is only 11 weeks old I believe :) he is pretty cute to say the least.  I got asked the other day by a member what one thing I really miss about home is and i told her that I miss my dogs quite a lot.  So anytime we go to somebody's house and they have a dog :) I get pretty excited and play with the dog for a minute.  So it's April already and I just switched the calendar that Lyndi gave me last November again.  Pretty crazy that it's April, March just flew by.  I will be hitting 20 months in the field here pretty soon and i will be considered an "Old" missionary haha!  Pretty funny i think.  Well i believe that is all i have to say for now :) so i hope you all have a great week!

Spring or Summer?‏

Hey everybody!  So this week has been pretty good I would say.  The weather has been crazy though.  Everybody though spring was on its way but I guess summer decided that he wanted to come a bit earlier then usual.  It's been in the mid 70's most of the week and a couple days even hit the mid to upper 80's!  Luckily we have been outside a lot this past week helping people out so we have been getting a lot of sun and have been able to enjoy the nice weather.

Tuesday i was in Avon for the day on tours.  It was pretty good i guess.  We ended up walking a total of about 6 miles going to the library and back to the apartment.  After that we just went to a couple members houses and tracked a bit.  Like i said though this past week has been mostly service again.  Saturday we went from brother Ardiboni to sister Dea's to brother Patterson's.  Really I wish i could tell you something different then just doing service for others but that is really most of what we have been doing lately, and its been keeping us extremely busy.  Though I do have kind of a cool/simple story to tell that happened on Thursday morning while we were driving to District meeting.  Before we leave the house to go anywhere we say a prayer.  In the prayer I asked that we would be able to resist the temptations that came our way thought the day.  As we were driving to the meeting I realized that I had the very peace calm feeling around me and it was really nice actually.  I realized at that moment that I was being comforted and that my prayer had and was going to be answered thought the day.  And all I really remember is that that day I didn’t feel too terribly tempted, and also that when I was tempted I was able to change my thoughts quite easily.  So the moral of the story is that prayer works :) so you should all try it and keep trying until it’s just a good habit that you have.

Well I wish I had more to tell you, but I’m having trouble remember what happened this week other then service :) which is always good.  So I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Hopefully this works‏

Alright I just noticed I talk a lot about service in my e-mail in this area but o well its what we do here.  So here are the past two weeks of e-mails that I guess some people aren’t getting!!!!!!

Why hello there everybody!  So this week has been pretty good I must say.  For the most part though we did a heck of a lot of service, which I do enjoy.  So let’s see what days did we do service.  So Tuesday we did like we usually do with brother moore.  We cut some wood and also went and got some wood from off the top of his property.  Aslo when we were up there, E. P. showed me a swing that they had that their kids use to swing on when they were much younger.  This swing puts you WAY up in the air and is kinda scary but pretty awesom at the same time.  Then on Friday i believe we did some service as well.  We helped somebody move into a new apartment and that took up the better part of the day.  Saturday we played soem b-ball with the ward till about 12.  After that we went to the Jameson house and helped them paint the basement for a good 2 hours.  Then around 3 we went to Brother Ardiobonies place and helped him stack/move some wood around his yard and that took till about 6 and then he fed us dinner, so that took up pretty much the rest of the day.  This next week we will be having a lot of service opportunities again which I’m excited for.  We were able to teach Tom this week.  E. P. and i were trying to figure out what we should teach him, but neither of us could think of anything so we finally decided to pick up where we left of last time and that was on the Holy Ghost.  At first things were going alright.  We asked Tom a simple question about the H.G. and he answered that question for a good 10-15 minutes.  When we finally got thing back on track and we were starting to bring in the spirit, the phone rang......this always happens and it's quite annoying.  Well sadly the phone call was a bearer of bad news and what little we had of the spirit in the room just vanished like that.  So we tried to bring it back again, but we were uncessfull.  From that experience i could tell that the adversary was trying really hard to keep the spirit from being there and I must say he did a pretty good job at it, but that doesn’t change anything :) we will just go to Tom's house again and hope that the environment will be better this go around.  But the cool thing is that Tom needed to hear about the H.G. and how he can help us through our trials and make things seams a bit lighter then they were before.  So all in all i would say that it was still a successful visit :).  Well that’s pretty much all the excitement ive had this week.  I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!

Alright so yes I am staying in Bristol and so is elder P. :) so pretty much no new changes this transfer and I’m ok with that.  So my mom has asked me for this month to put something up about luck with the Holy Ghost.  So I’m going to do the best that I can this month to see if I can pull something off every week to tell you about.  So this week I had something in mind, not really sure if it was luck or not but it was still a simple but interesting thing that happened.  So like i said it was pretty simple.  E. P and i were having personally study one day and when we finished we went into comp study.  Well most missionaries talk a little bit about what they studied and try to learn from one another.  Anyway I was reading in Alma somewhere I believe and it was on being forgiving of our sins, and E. P was reading something about committing sins and how they can condemn us.  Those two tings were exactly what we needed to teach Tim and Carol that day and it was just kind of cool to think that we were both prompted to study those two different topics so that we would be prepared that day to teach :) so that’s the story I have for you this week.  So what happened this week, well WE GOT BROTHER ARDIBONI TO CHURCH.....AND HIS WIFE!!!!  It was pretty epic actually.  We went over there Sunday morning and said Brother Ardibonie....your coming to church today.  He gave a couple of excuses like I don’t know where my clothing is, then his wife said o it’s in the closet haha.  He said a couple other things as well but finally he just said "Ah the heck with it I might as well give up and go" lol anyway it was really awesome and great to see him at church.  He hasn't been to church in about 5 years I think so that was a great accomplishment for E. P and I :).  Let’s see what else happened....so I just realized that I have me new planner on me so I don’t remember what happened lat week haha, o well :).  O ya so the other day I made a dinner for one of our members who just had surgery on her spine, she had a ruptured disc so she has been in a lot of pain lately, but the surgery went well.  Anyway I made her chicken and rice and just to let my mom know what kind it was, I used the breading that you sent with me when I left on my mish.  It was pretty good :) not as good as my mom makes it but what the heck I think I did a pretty good job :) well i think that it for now :) i love you all and i hope you have a great week!

Well there you go :) love you all have a great week!
